Administrative history
The Office of Planning and Academic Implementation was established in early 1998 to support the Hong Kong Institute of Education’s central planning work, including academic planning, strategic planning, and academic manpower planning. The office collaborated with the Management Information Systems section of the Office of Information Technology and Services to develop a management information system that facilitates strategic and manpower planning within the institute.
Dr Lai Kwok-chan was Head of the Office from its establishment till his retirement in June 2012.
Archival history
The file was maintained in the custody of a former staff of the Strategic Planning Office since the Office’s closure in July 2012 until transfer to the EdUHK Archives.
