In June 2007 the Institute has submitted the Development Blueprint to the Government of the HKSAR for the quest of a university title. To support the effective implementation of the Development Blueprint, the Senior Management Committee on 15 August 2007 decided to set up the Blueprint Steering Committee under the President to take charge of the overall planning and development of the related tasks.

This file contains supplementary information provided by HKIEd to the University Grants Committee (UGC) prior to the submission of its Academic Development Proposal (ADP) for 2001-2004 triennium, covering the Institute’s latest developments and the four-year first-degree university system. In addition, this file includes the UGC’s comments on the “3+3+4” progress report submitted by HKIEd, which was also part of the ADP for the 2009-12 triennium.

In line with its role statement, the Institute has played an active part in the development and improvement of education through knowledge advancement, applied research and the transfer of knowledge, as well as through its academic and professional practices and community services. Knowledge transfer is defined as the two-way flow of academic and professional knowledge, ideas, techniques and expertise between the Institute and the wider education community.
