The conference was held on 11 May 2017 (Thursday) at 9:30am. To enhance interaction and engagement, kindergartens were specially invited to share their teaching methods and experiences with the industry through seminars, workshops, and a poster session. A new feature, the “Chat Rooms,” was also introduced, providing a valuable platform for academics and practitioners to exchange ideas and insights on key issues in early childhood education.

The Department of Early Childhood Education offers a wide range of programmes, from sub-degree to postgraduate and professional levels, designed to meet the diverse needs of learners. Through multidisciplinary courses and a strong foundation in professional knowledge and skills, the department enhances student learning and strengthens the competitiveness of both prospective and in-service teachers.

The newsletter was first published in traditional Chinese in the 2015/16 academic year, with four issues published each year. Later, in 2017/18, it was changed to three issues per year. The English-language edition began in 2016/17 with one issue per year. Starting with issue no. 1 in the 2019/2020 academic year, the newsletter has been published in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
This series consists of the department newsletters, course pamphlets, and a conference poster. These publications document the academic and social activities of the Department of Early Childhood Education, which is the current name of the department.

The 4-year project, titled “Early prevention, early identification, and early intervention (3Es): a school-based support model of social-emotional development for kindergarten children,” is funded by the Simon K. Y. Lee Children’s Fund.
The pamphlets aim to provide kindergarten teachers and parents with teaching examples and strategies for promoting emotional and social skills and values education. This will allow teachers and parents to more systematically support the emotional and social development of young children and their positive values.
