Administrative history
The Office of Strategic and Academic Planning was renamed the Strategic Planning Office (SPO) in 2009, and senior management closed it down in July 2012.
From 2009 to 2012, SPO published an internal issue of the Planning Brief twice a year. The aim was to inform and support the planning and decision-making processes of Senior Management and related academic and administrative offices.

Archival history
The file was maintained in the custody of a former staff of the Strategic Planning Office since the Office’s closure in July 2012 until transfer to the EdUHK Archives.

Scope and content
The first Asian Roundtable of Presidents of Universities of Education was organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Education in May 2009. Over 30 presidents and representatives of normal universities and universities of education from Asia and Europe attended.
The Second Asian Roundtable was held on 3 November 2011 under the theme of “Envisioning the Future of Asian Universities of Education”.
