This series consists of records generated, received or accumulated by the research and administrative activities of the Office, which mainly document HKIEd’s strategic development planning, working progress on University title, HKIEd academic development, UGC visits and the organisation of strategic events such as senior management retreat and roundtables of presidents of universities of education.
Strategic Planning OfficeOn 26 February 1998, the new campus of The Hong Kong Institute of Education in Tai Po was officially opened. This series contains newspaper clippings that relate to the official opening ceremony in 1998 and the topping-out ceremony on 16 April 1997.
The Education University of Hong KongThe series consists of both administrative and programme records of the Association of Lecturers at Colleges of Education dated 1966 to 1985, including meeting notices and minutes, constitutions, bank statements, financial reports, correspondence, newsletters, and members' lists; in addition to published materials of the Hong Kong Institute of Education's Development Blueprint dated 2007.
Academic Staff Association of The Education University of Hong KongThis series consists of project proposals, design layout plans, meeting notes, correspondence, cost estimates, budget plans, questionnaires and application forms for a variety of matters, relating to the preliminary activities undertaken by the Proposed Community Creative Arts Complex Project Planning Committee in order to obtain funding from the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for the proposed Community Creative Arts Complex Project ("CCA Complex Project").
The CCA Complex Project proposed to synergize the educational and artistic expertise of the Hong Kong Institute of Education ("HKIEd") with local arts organisations to enhance the cultural well-being of the north-east district of the New Territories. The ultimate goal of the CCA Complex Project, as the Project title suggests, was to lead to the construction of a Community Creative Arts Complex within HKIEd's Tai Po campus. However, the CCA Complex Project fell through and the construction was unable to come true.
The Proposed Community Creative Arts Complex Project Planning CommitteeIncludes published materials of marketing and programme promotion, one of the responsible areas of the Admissions, Registrations and Academic Planning Section, Registry. Examples of activities relating to this particular responsibility include Information Day, admission and programme website development and management.
RegistryThe series currently includes promotional materials of the Under The Trees exhibition series, which was presented by the Hong Kong Institute of Education in collaboration with the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, and organized by the Hong Kong Museum of Education and the Hong Kong Museum of History over the course of 2010 and 2011.
The Under The Trees exhibition series is a showcase of the findings of a collaborative research project conducted by the Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Institute of Education in 2006 on the development of rural education in Hong Kong. There were two exhibitions. The first exhibition, Under The Trees: The History of Hong Kong Village Schools, was on display at the Hong Kong Museum of Education between 14 May 2010 and 31 March 2011; whereas the second exhibition, Under The Trees: People and Stories from Village Schools, was held at the Hong Kong Museum of History from 21 July to 27 September 2010.
Hong Kong Museum of EducationThe series currently consists of published materials of the First Assembly 1994/95 of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. The First Assembly was held on 22 September 1994 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and was officiated by the then Secretary of Education and Manpower, Mr. Michael Leung.
The Education University of Hong KongThis series is a record of the planning and room layouts of the main campus buildings at the main campus of Hong Kong Institute of Education at Tai Po. The campus buildings include the administration, academic, central Facilities and amenities Buildings, which form the core of the campus. The planning was established after six months of discussion and consultation.
P&T Architects & Engineers Ltd. was the planner of Hong Kong Institute of Education campus layouts in 1995.
The series currently consists of printed ephemera of the Hong Kong Institute of Education's Tai Po Campus topping-out ceremony which was held on 16 April 1997.
The Education University of Hong KongThe series currently consists of records relating to the planning of course visits for a full-time refresher course for English Panel Chairpersons from secondary schools between 1991 and 1994.
