This section comprises records documenting the activities and services of academic support units within the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Records may include those relating to administration, library services, student recruitment, outreach activities and other initiatives supporting teaching, learning, research and institutional operations. The records provide evidence of the contribution of academic support units to the Institute's educational and administrative functions.

This file includes the agenda for the second meeting of the Academic Studies Board meeting, as well as the agenda for the first meeting, which is included as Appendix F.

Other miscellaneous documents are also included:

Records of Hong Kong Institute of Education (1994-2016), formed through merger of five government teacher training institutions.

This section comprises records documenting the history, heritage and collective memory of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Records may include those relating to commemorative activities, heritage preservation initiatives and significant institutional milestones. The records provide evidence of the Institute's efforts to preserve and promote its heritage and identity.

The Coordinating Committee for Full-time Courses was one of the College/Campus Committees. This file consists of agenda for 3/94 meeting and includes the minutes of the second meeting of Coordinating Committee.

As the meeting focuses on the area of Teaching Practice, other miscellaneous documents are also included:
1) Notes to staff on supervision of teaching practice 1995;
2) Records related to Teaching Practice, such as Teacher Practice Report Forms, Checklists on Student Performance, Supervision Records, and Supervision Forms.

In 1994, the old Teacher’s Certificate courses were replaced by this new Certificate in Education (CE) courses, consisting of four domains: Professional Studies, Curriculum Studies, Academic Studies and General Education, and a Practicum component, which integrated theory and practice through seminars and a comprehensive range of school experience. The introduction of CE courses represented the most significant development in the founding year.

The Environmental Studies module was part of the “Academic Studies” area.

This file consists of the module outline and examination questions. It also includes information on the allocation of optional modules and the 1994–95 timetable.

This file contains correspondence, reports, minutes and memorandum relating to academic structure, new course module development, entrance qualifications, staffing requirements, manpower relocation and resource planning. These documents provide insight into the discussions among senior management regarding the academic planning and academic manpower planning for the new Institute.
