The First Assembly was held on 22 September 1994 at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and was officiated by the then Secretary of Education and Manpower, Mr. Michael Leung.
The file consists of an admission ticket, information sheets about the Hong Kong Institute of Education, programme for the First Assembly, and three transcripts of speeches given by Mr Simon Ip, then Council Chairman; Mr Michael Leung, then Secretary for Education and Manpower; and Prof C. K. Leung, then Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

This file contains documents relating to College Field Outing activities and the role of personal tutors, including:
1) a circular issued to personal tutors regarding the field outing in Nov. 1988;

4) a schedule of programme activities for the College Field Outing in 1993, and

In September 2007, the University Grants Committee (UGC) set up the Review Group on the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) in response to the Government's invitation for expert advice on the Development Blueprint put forward by the Institute. The Review Group visited the HKIEd Tai Po Campus on 7 January 2008.

Office of Strategic and Academic Planning.In 1994, the old Teacher’s Certificate courses were replaced by this new Certificate in Education (CE) courses, consisting of four domains: Professional Studies, Curriculum Studies, Academic Studies and General Education, and a Practicum component, which integrated theory and practice through seminars and a comprehensive range of school experience. The introduction of CE courses represented the most significant development in the founding year.
The Environmental Studies module was part of the “Academic Studies” area.
