School Projects and Initiatives Funding Committee of SFE was set up by the Academic Board on 27 June 2001. The Committee considered and approved application from Departments of the School, with reference to the institute-wide policies and standard guidelines, covering the following areas of activities:

• Academic exchange activities;
• Academic publications;
• Special projects and activities covering seminars/ conferences, workshops, productions, exchanges, resources for school, exhibition, institute-school partnership activities, etc.; and
• Conference attendance of academic staff

The School Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee (TLQAC) was responsible for matters pertaining to strategic planning and quality in relation to teaching and learning development, proposal submission for and monitoring of the Teaching and Learning Grant projects, promotion and dissemination of good practices in teaching and learning, contribution to the annual QA report and coordination with CeLTS in relation to school-based teaching and learning development activities.

Records relating to the activities of the School TLQAC. The file includes meeting agenda and minutes for the 8th to 10th meetings, circulation papers, Chairman’s briefing papers, and related correspondence. The records document the Committee’s discussions and decisions concerning teaching and learning quality assurance, as well as preparatory and supporting materials circulated among members.

This file contains records documenting space planning, allocation, and re‑organisation undertaken by the School of Foundations in Education in consultation with the Estates Office and related departments following the School’s restructuring.

The records relate to both the review and optimisation of space used by existing departments and the allocation and reorganisation of space for new or restructured departments and offices. Materials include drawings and floor plans, space allocation proposals, rationalisation and reorganisation plans, move schedules, surveys on utilisation of teaching venues, requests for allocation of rooms and additional space, and documentation relating to asset transfer to new offices. Together, the records reflect efforts to optimise the School’s use of physical space.

This file contains records relating to the production, distribution, and management of the School of Foundations in Education (SFE) newsletter.

Records include distribution lists to internal departments, local and overseas universities, the Government Education Department, and partner schools; correspondence concerning newsletter production and online publication; drafts prepared for proofreading and editorial review; and records relating to funding and printing arrangements, as well as a style guide for the use of the University’s and School’s logos. The file documents the administrative and operational aspects of managing the SFE newsletter.

Includes proposed syllabi of the common and college units of Social Studies for the full-time two-year course. Among the Colleges of Education, only Northcote College of Education and Grantham College of Education offered Social Studies as an elective subject for the full-time two-year course.

This file contains the views of internal staff and external stakeholders, gathered through Delphi rounds and SWOT analyses, which support institutional strategic planning. Together with insights collected from open forums, these materials informed decisions regarding the strategic direction of the Institute in Strategy 2000.

The objectives of the Staff Forum were to inform staff of recent developments in the strategic planning and implementation process, and to discuss their role in achieving the Vision of the Strategy 2000.

The folder contains the director's script for the staff forum, the presentation slides, the invitation letter and the workshop programme. It also contains Dr Lonsdale's suggestions on the strategic implementation process.
