This collection comprises the records of the five Colleges of Education operating in Hong Kong prior to their 1994 amalgamation. It comprises the individual fonds of Northcote College of Education, Grantham College of Education, Sir Robert Black College of Education, the Hong Kong Technical Teachers College, and the Institute of Language in Education.

While independent, the five institutions frequently formed joint committees or working groups to standardise teacher training quality across Hong Kong, often chaired by the Education Department.

This section comprises records documenting the governance, administration, and student development activities of Grantham College of Education. Records include committee records, staff lists, duty allocations, institutional planning documents, and records relating to College Field Outing activities, the Complementary Programmes Project and the proposed conversion of a secondary school into a college annexe. The records provide evidence of the College's management, administration, and student support functions.

This file includes an estimate report on the accommodation, the proposed architectural plans, and the accommodation schedule for the conversion of Tin Kwong Road Government Secondary School into a Grantham Annex for full-time courses, following the expiry of the lease on the Argyle Centre in Mong Kok.

However, this conversion did not take place.
