This collection comprises the records of the five Colleges of Education operating in Hong Kong prior to their 1994 amalgamation. It comprises the individual fonds of Northcote College of Education, Grantham College of Education, Sir Robert Black College of Education, the Hong Kong Technical Teachers College, and the Institute of Language in Education.

While independent, the five institutions frequently formed joint committees or working groups to standardise teacher training quality across Hong Kong, often chaired by the Education Department.

Includes memoranda, meeting notes, data sheets, reports and bound volumes regarding the use of the Management Information and Control System (MICS) at the Colleges of Education and the Hong Kong Technical Teachers' College.

The titles of the bound volumes are as follows:

• MICS Procedure Manual 1987;
• Application of Management Information & Control System in Colleges of Education, Pilot Study - 1986 (2 versions in total, and each version has 3 copies);
• Management Information Derived from 86-87 MICS Exercise;
• Management Information Derived from 87-88 MICS Exercise.

This file contains documents relating to College Field Outing activities and the role of personal tutors, including:

1) a circular issued to personal tutors regarding the field outing in Nov. 1988;
2) a document outlining the role of personal tutors dated Nov. 1991;

4) a schedule of programme activities for the College Field Outing in 1993, and
