This series comprises records documenting the cooperation and contact made by Northcote College of Education with other institutions and sections on the coordination and development of teacher education in Hong Kong. The subjects currently covered by the series include the establishment of the Institute of Language in Education in 1982, the possible futures of the Colleges of Education, the creation of the Teacher Education Consultative Committee with the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the proposed establishment of a fourth College of Education, and academic planning of the Hong Kong Institute of Education.

Regarding the proposed establishment of a fourth College of Education, in order to absorb the Hong Kong Technical Teachers' College and release the other three Colleges of Education from the need to lease and borrow premises and accommodation for the ever-growing number of students during the 1980s.

Includes minutes of the Academic Development Working Group, one of the working groups of the Provisional Governing Council of the Hong Kong Institute of Education. The Working Group was responsible for planning and setting up an academic organisational structure for the Institute.

Reporting to the Academic Development Working Group, the Committee's responsibility was to work closely with the Teacher's Certificate ("TC") Task Group of the Education Department in reviewing the teacher's certificate programmes to be offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Education in the 1994/95 academic year.
