The Refresher Course for Panel Chairpersons focused on helping the participants to better equip themselves for the duties of an English Panel Chairperson. Towards the end of the course, the participants would be arranged to visit international schools in order to see:
- how English was taught to non-native -speakers in another system; and
- how another English department was run, from a management point of view. Or, more broadly, to observe:
- issues related to “language across the curriculum”;
- resources and facilities for English language teaching.
This file includes correspondence between the English Department and international schools in Hong Kong regarding arrangements for participants to visit the schools. The visits had been part of the curriculum since the refresher course was launched in 1991.
