This file consists of video recordings documenting classroom implementation of innovative teaching strategies aimed at enhancing student comprehension, collaborative learning, and engagement. The recordings covered teaching sessions in the classroom, and some also included post-class student review and reflection sessions, as well as insights from teachers on methodology and outcomes.

Beginning in early June 2002, a panel commissioned by the University Grants Committee (UGC) visited all tertiary institutions to evaluate the Government of the HKSAR's investment in higher education. The focus was on the mechanisms and processes in place to assure and improve the quality of teaching and learning. The panel of around fourteen local and overseas experts conducted a Teaching and Learning Quality Process Review (TLQPR). The Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) was one of the first to be visited.

As part of its move toward university status, HKIEd prepared extensively for the UGC’s TLQPR review scheduled for 5-6 June 2002. Preparations included engaging external consultants, developing Education Quality Work (EQW) profiles across units, and conducting internal trial review visits in mid-June 2001. These trials received positive feedback for staff and student commitment and strong quality assurance processes, particularly in curriculum design. The Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee (TLQAC) both oversaw and participated in the internal review.

The TLQPR Panel finally selected 13 units/programmes for review, two of which were SCAST and PGDE(S).

Using the four domains as the main headings helped the Panel to maintain its bearings and ensured that all significant elements were addressed. The School Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance Committee (TLQAC) was responsible for matters pertaining to strategic planning and quality in relation to teaching and learning development, proposal submission for and monitoring of the Teaching and Learning Grant projects, promotion and dissemination of good practices in teaching and learning, contribution to the annual QA report and coordination with CeLTS in relation to school-based teaching and learning development activities.

Records relating to the activities of the School TLQAC. The file includes meeting agenda and minutes for the 8th to 10th meetings, circulation papers, Chairman’s briefing papers, and related correspondence. The records document the Committee’s discussions and decisions concerning teaching and learning quality assurance, as well as preparatory and supporting materials circulated among members.

The School Management Team (SMT) comprises the Dean, Associate Dean, Department Heads and Programme Leaders. The SMT members meet monthly to discuss issues related to academic matters, resources, strategies and School management. It enhances communication and consultation within the School and its constituent Departments on issues related to teaching and learning, research and implementation and new developments of all subjects and programmes.

The file includes minutes of the 14th to 20th meetings, agenda, and related correspondence. The records document the management and administrative deliberations of the School.

The School Heads Meeting (SHM) consists of the Dean and Department Heads. The file includes the meeting agenda, minutes, and follow up action records documenting decisions made and actions arising from the meeting.

Records relating to recurrent budgeting for the SCAST and its departments. The file includes budgets for general expenses and equipment, budget comparison statements, and records documenting budget balances for the relevant financial periods.

The file contains photos prepared for display and photos taken at Hong Kong Institute of Education's (HKIEd) 2002 Open Day, they include:
