The series consists of annual departmental reports compiled by the subject departments of Northcote College of Education on staffing, course content, course and teaching practice evaluation, student enrolment, departmental activities and achievements.
Northcote College of EducationThe series comprises of records relating to the administration of Northcote College of Education ("NCE") between 1982 and 1990. The subjects covered include the Northcote College of Education Students' Union, the implementation of a management information and control system, and the classification and descriptions of all job positions in NCE.
The administration of NCE includes financial and store matters, maintenance of College premises, office management, personnel matters, academic matters, and the monitoring of student affairs. Apart from maintaining regular communication with its own College staff and students, the records show that NCE also made extensive contact and cooperation with the other two Colleges of Education, the Hong Kong Technical Teachers' College, and the Education Department on matters related to College administration.

Colleges of Education Joint Selection BoardThis series comprises records documenting the cooperation and contact made by Northcote College of Education with other institutions and sections on the coordination and development of teacher education in Hong Kong. The subjects currently covered by the series include the establishment of the Institute of Language in Education in 1982, the possible futures of the Colleges of Education, the creation of the Teacher Education Consultative Committee with the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the proposed establishment of a fourth College of Education, and academic planning of the Hong Kong Institute of Education.
Northcote College of EducationThis series is a record of the planning and room layouts of the main campus buildings at the main campus of Hong Kong Institute of Education at Tai Po. The campus buildings include the administration, academic, central Facilities and amenities Buildings, which form the core of the campus. The planning was established after six months of discussion and consultation.
P&T Architects & Engineers Ltd. was the planner of Hong Kong Institute of Education campus layouts in 1995.
The series currently consists of records relating to the planning of course visits for a full-time refresher course for English Panel Chairpersons from secondary schools between 1991 and 1994.
English Department, Institute of Language in EducationThis record series contains randomly selected samples of the meeting records of the Board of Examiners of the School of Foundations in Education.
Usually, every School or Faculty in EdUHK has it's Board of Examiners. The role of the Board shall be:
(a) to assure the overall academic standard of the programme for which the Board is responsible;
(b) to assure fair and consistent assessment of academic performance of students and to adjudicate any cases with irregularities;
(c) to consider the overall performance of students, and approve the assessment results of modules;
(d) in accordance with the General Academic Policies and Regulations, to determine the remedial work for problem/failure cases and cases of extenuating circumstances that need special consideration, and to determine cases for discontinuation of studies;
(e) to recommend the lists of graduates for the award of degrees and other academic awards to the Faculty Board/ Higher Degrees Committee/ Academic Quality Assurance Committee for endorsement;
(f) to report its decision on students' progression and assessment to the Faculty Board/ Higher Degrees Committee/ Academic Quality Assurance Committee;
(g) to set up a Core Team to act on its behalf;
(h) to form a panel to hear discontinuation case(s), if necessary.
School of Foundations in EducationThis series consists of meeting papers, minutes, circulation, and correspondences of the School of Foundations in Education.
The series relates to the academic works of the School. Subjects and activities covered by the documents include curriculum, module revision, programme examiner, programme re-validation; student exchange programme, appointment of professor, student disciplinary and fund application.
This series also documented the membership and works of several committees within the School, including the Advisory Committee on Primary Teacher Education, Student Disciplinary Committee; and School Projects; Initiative Funding Committee; Academic Validation and Monitoring Committee; and Academic Planning and Development Committee.
School of Foundations in EducationThis series consists of records generated, received or accumulated by the research and administrative activities of the Office, which mainly document HKIEd’s strategic development planning, working progress on University title, HKIEd academic development, UGC visits and the organisation of strategic events such as senior management retreat and roundtables of presidents of universities of education.
Strategic Planning OfficeThis series consists of correspondences of the School of Foundations in Education.
Subjects and activities covered by the documents include the 9th and 10th Graduation Ceremony of HKIEd; 10th Anniversary Celebration of HKIEd; and visiting scholars and professors.
